Upon arrival in Loreto, a quaint Pueblo Mágico, we strolled through the picturesque main drag and the Malecón, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this charming town.

Our quick stroll turned into a hunt for some authentic eats and a strong margarita, which we found at Mi Loreto. This was just our intro day, and it fueled us up for the hectic but equally amazing next few days!

The next day, we headed out to Nomadico Restaurante in the Bay of Conception. The charming café, with its freshly roasted beans, offered a delightful coconut danish paired with rich espresso.

The day's highlight was kayaking on the bay's serene waters, enjoying cervezas, and watching fishermen skillfully catch clams, scallops, and snapper. The fresh seafood was prepared right in front of us and served raw, and the snapper was prepared on a beach fire with tomatoes, onions, and peppers.

Eating clams and scallops fresh from the water was perhaps the best seafood experience I've had during my travels.

We rushed over to Río Mulegé's overlook to catch the last moments of the sun, and it was spectacular! The oasis-like vista, with a mesmerizing river leading to majestic mountains and soaring vultures over palm trees, was like something out of a painting.

Our stay that night at Las Tres Vírgenes, with its stunning volcanic landscape, might have been my favorite. The rustic cabins offer views of the “Three Virgins.” Despite a full moon, the star visibility and night sky were mind-blowing. The more I stared, the more stars appeared.

We learned about the area's history, flora, and fauna, including ancient cacti towering over us. (PS - take a closer at the picture above. It was taken at night, can you see the stars!?)

The next morning, we were led to Cañon Azufre to marvel at sulfuric vents spewing smoke before heading to our next destination.

In Santa Rosalía, we admired the newly designated Pueblo Mágico, its unique French-influenced architecture, and the metal Inglesia Santa Barbara. A visit to the Casa de la Cultura cultural museum deepened our understanding of the town's rich mining history and cultural significance.

In San Bruno, we embarked on a fishing adventure in the Sea of Cortez, enjoying a leisurely boat ride and some beach time. Later that day, we feasted on the fish our group caught!

Although still full from lunch, we headed back to Loreto and dined at Serrano Steakhouse, where the seafood and grilled meats were outstanding. The garden setting was beautiful, and I wish I had been hungrier!

We ended our journey with a bang on the last day, taking a stunning catamaran ride around Isla Danzante in Loreto Bay National Park. We swam to Honeymoon Beach and saw The Window (La Ventana), a huge arch that was naturally carved out of a rock.

After our time in Baja California Sur, it's clear there's so much more to experience! I can't wait to return to this area and dive deeper!
